Color Guide To Look Your Best

Shopping can be an overwhelming experience!

After a while you’re not sure what looks good and what doesn’t. Lucky for you, Shopicks has created four collections using the Color Me Beautiful guide by Carole Jackson. This tool is a real gem!

This book/ fashion bible is a guide that divides everyone into one of four groups. Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn. The seasons are color groups based on your skin tone coloring to assist you in maximizing your best features and enhance your own coloring.

Here’s an overview of the seasons, straight from Color Me Beautiful:

Spring: Spring’s eyes are usually blue or green with yellow blonde. honey or golden brown, with golden undertones. Most flattering colors are warm and bright, such as turquoise, orange-red, medium violet, and warm beige. Well-known Spring’s include Reese Witherspoon, Amanda Seyfried, Scarlett Johannson, Blake Lively and Queen B.

Summer:  Most Summer’s have light brunette or ashy brown hair, and a rosy skin tone. Best colors are delicate, pastel tones, that are calm and soothing, such as powder pink, rose and periwinkle. Well-known Summer’s include Gwenyth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Rachel McAdams, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Conrad and Khloe Kardashian.

Winter: Usually Winter’s have deep blue or brown eyes, pale skin, dark hair, and a blue undertone. You look best in bold colors such as black, navy, white, red & jewel tones. Well-known Winter’s are Audrey Hepburn, Olivia Munn, Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian, Alexis Bledel, Courntey Cox, and Katy Perry.

Autumn: Autumn’s typically have green or golden eyes, red or strawberry blonde hair and a peach skin tone. Best colors are fiery, earthy, nude, mustard & golden colors, similar to the colors of the leaves in this season. Well-known Autumns include Amy Adams, Emma Stone, Isla Fischer, Eva Longoria, Sophia Vergara, Debra Messing and J.Lo

Shopicks has gone ahead and created  four collections for each season to help you look your best!

What happens if you want to wear a color that is out of your season?

PRO TIP: Wear those colors on the bottom (pants, skirts) .  The colors you wear closest to your face are the most important. Have a top that is out of your season and don’t want to part ways with it? Wear a scarf in your color group! Enjoy looking and feeling your best!

Happy Shopping!
